| when you change job,graduate from university, retire or relocate to other countries. . . | ||
| when your colleague or boss gets promoted, immigrates, leaves or retires . . . | ||
| you may need to deliver a farewell speech. | ||
| **To make a good speech, you need to plan, practice, make your content shine and engage your audience emotionally. ** | ||
| The key elements are | ||
| • a brief summary of your involvement | ||
| • what you have enjoyed of the relationship/ time spent | ||
| • appreciation for others | ||
| • gratitude for their support | ||
| • memories or anecdotes | ||
| • your next step in life | ||
| • good wishes to those you leave behind | ||
| Tonight, we listened to videos of two different farewell speeches and discussed what we learnt. | ||
