The Grand Opening for MBS’s East Asia Centre took place to resounding success on the evening of October 13th, 2014. Heavily attended by students, alumni, V.I.P.s and guests of honour, it truly featured the crème de la crème of the business and educational world. From the ‘unlocking’ and lighting up of the global map to a celebratory lion dance (a Chinese tradition symbolizing a fresh start with good luck and fortune; joy and happiness), the mood was one of triumph, and the evening was full of highlights big and small, from an opening speech by Professor Devine to enthusiastic toasts as the evening wound down. Certainly, the night also provided a precious platform for our many guests to mingle and network, to great success. Leaving with their gift of the night: a key-shaped USB, all were certain that the Grand Opening could only bode well for the future – unlocking more doors, and accelerating more careers.
